Hi i was curious on your opinion on what is best for an elementalist
would a full set of survivors be better (+40 health)
or a set of blessed (+10 whilst enchanted)
or a mix blessed chest and legs, survivor helm, hands, feet ( +15 health)
Thanks
Dark

Personally, I'm a big fan of survivors considering how much damage in the game ignores armor. Mesmer spells, necro spells, smites, degen, and, most importantly, the additive damage bonuses on attack skills.
My advice; get TWO outfits. One survivor, one blessed

Survivor for general use.
Prismatic if your speccing into 2 elements
+20 vs Element X if you want to get hardcore and switch armour sets against what your facing.

Survivor all the way for PvP. For PvE, it depens on preference. I'm a big fan of armour mods on casters, but Survivors may be better if you're using a sup rune.

If when you are playing you feel you have a lack of health, take survivor. Otherwise blessed because you are always enchanted. Personally i'd take blessed, more armor is generally better in PvE than health as foes tend to use less armor ignoring and degen skills. There is rule to how foes target your party (i.e. lower health or armor first) but i cant remember which way round it is.
Some casters dont realise that your target doesnt have to be in your agro circle for you to attack them. Use this to your advantage.

I'm partial to +armor over +health in PvE - Prismatic, Blessed, Stalwart, or one of the elemental ones depending on the situation.

Prismatic for PvE and Dual Attribute PvP builds (occasionally), Survivor for rest.

In PvP Survivors. In PvE, you can usually be enchanted so Id go with blessed. It helps with tera tank farming too. +10 blessed, +10 vs earth +8 shield. If you farm smites with it, you can survive 3 rounds of your SV/AV being interrupted if it does.

For someone seriously starting an Ele I'd be inclined to obtain a Blessed set and a Survivor Set. Use the Blessed set most of the time, and if you find you're partywiping, switch to the Survivor set for more health when required.
Personally I own those and more. I also use prismatic, pyromancer, aeromancer and hydromancer...I'm working on the geomancer set . I find Prismatic great for Mind Blast builds in particular, where you can easily spec 9 or more in at least 2 elements.
So I reckon start out with blessed, then survivor, then consider others if you want to buy more armor. Geomancers' supposed to be useful when farming with [wiki]Stone Striker[/wiki].
